
Hellenic Cables, the cable division of Cenergy Holdings, has signed a turnkey contract with 50Hertz, a major European transmission system operator, for a 220 kV export cable system for the Ostwind 3 project in Germany. Ostwind 3 will connect part of the demarcated area of the Windanker wind farm to the German EHV transmission network. The connection of the Windanker wind farm will bring 300 MW of green energy to the German grid, capable of supplying about 260,000 households. The scope of the contract includes the design, supply, delivery, storage, installation, connection, termination, testing and commissioning of a 105 km (220 kV) submarine export cable, as well as a 13.5 km shore export cable (220 kV). , platform cables (220 kV) 2 km long and platform cables (66 kV) 2 km long
Ostwind 3 will connect part of the Windanker wind farm to the German power grid.
The cables will be manufactured at Hellenic Cables’ state-of-the-art vertical submarine cable plant in Corinth and at the High Voltage Underground Cable Plant in Thebes. Experienced and highly qualified personnel as well as the best working practices at both sites guarantee the delivery of high quality products and services. Cable production will be completed by October 2024 and delivery by 2025.
