On Sunday afternoon, several thousand people, at most 3 thousand, gathered at the rally organized by the AUR on the University Square. “This is a protest of the Romanian people,” shouted George Simion, who then arrived with his supporters at Victory Square after blocking Mageru Boulevard. The government had a surprise: Diana Shoshoake and about 300 people were waiting for them. This did not last long, and a scandal broke out in both camps, which required the intervention of the gendarmes. Then Simion led his men down Kiselev, surrounded by gendarmes, to the PSD and PNL headquarters. When they returned to the government, they found Sosoake still there, still on stage, still at the microphone, with his supporters. But in the meantime, someone brought the stage to Simeon as well.

As shown by two parallel rallies:

HotNews.ro conducted a live text broadcast of the AUR rally:

20:08Victoria Square begins to empty.

20:00People who were brought from the country by buses began to leave. Music is playing from the speakers.

19:49The demonstrators stayed for a few minutes outside the PNL before returning to Piața Victoriei, where Diana Shoshoeke, who continues to perform on stage, and her supporters are still there.

The two camps are in the same perimeter, but separated by gendarmes and squires, and now George Simion also has a stage and a microphone. “We will continue the protests next Sunday in every district of the country,” Simion shouts.

19:40A column of demonstrators arrived at the PNL. “Virgil Popescu, the thief, to prison!” shouted George Simion.

18:54After another speech by George Simion, the demonstrators went to the PNL headquarters.

18:46The protesters approached the SDP headquarters, where they shouted “Thieves” and “Get out, you common scum” from the gate.

18:37Demonstrators marched through King Mihai Square. They chant “Thieves, we’re going after PSD”, “PSD and PNL, same mess”. The column is led by George Simion.

18:20George Simion’s supporters went to PSD headquarters surrounded by gendarmes and squires. Kyselivska road is closed.

There are also gendarmes and squires’ vehicles along the entire route.

18:15The camps dispersed after George Simion called his men to the side of Victory Square. The number of demonstrators has decreased significantly – there are only a few hundred left.

Circulation has resumed, but the AUR leader has just announced to his supporters that they will march to the PSD headquarters in Kiselev.

The gendarmerie began mobilizing its armed forces.

18:00The crowd started chanting George Simeon’s name and Sosoaka’s supporters booed.Diana Sosoake reads the Lord’s Prayer.

Gendarmes are present in large numbers to prevent clashes between the two camps.

17:42 Some of the demonstrators who had come with Simeon climbed onto the stage where Soshoake was with her husband and several people, trying to knock them down. The two camps began to clash amid shouts from the crowd, and it took the intervention of the gendarmes to calm them down.

17:06Diana Șoșoacă managed to block the protest organized by AUR. The people whom Simeon had brought to the square ran down the sidewalks, while others stood on the ground and refused to chant what the senator asked them to do.

4:30 p.mA verbal altercation between several demonstrators and Diana Sosoake, who shouted “Shame! George Simeon has sold out!”. While Sosoake is in the middle of the square, the people brought by Simeon, who ignored her, have scattered to different places.

Traffic is blocked.

16:26 A moment of confusion for the demonstrators who arrived at Piața Victoriei. As Diana Shoshoake spoke into the microphone with a call for unity, the demonstrators, who had arrived at the square with George Simion, began to disperse on the sidewalks, without chanting.

A hymn is playing from speakers on a stage set up in the middle of the square, while people gathered on the side are blowing vuvuzelas.

16:10A column of protesters arrived at Victory Square, where Senator Diana Soshoake was waiting for them along with about 300 people: “Welcome, brothers! Unity!”.

15:40Demonstrators arrived at Roman Square. To the deafening sound of vuvuzelas, protestors wave tricolor flags, hang anti-government slogans and chant, in particular, “Resign,” “Thieves, thieves,” “We don’t want to be led by thieves,” “George, president.”

15:30The column of protesters often stops on the track. The organizers are unable to push back the supporters who walk in front of the flag bearers. It’s about the people who walk in front of the convoy to live stream on Facebook or take pictures.

Also, at the head of the column is a person with an announcer who sets the tone for singing patriotic songs. George Simion, the one who gives the directives, stands in the second row of the column.

Law enforcement sources say that the number of demonstrators does not exceed 3,000, while about 300 people are currently waiting for a column of protesters on Victory Square.

14:56Demonstrators went to Victory Square. Chanting “Freedom”.

14:14Protesters leading the convoy carry a huge banner that says “Expected” and chant “It’s no longer possible, we want to be ahead,” “We want the thieves to go, the patriots to come,” “PNL and PSD, the same. a mess”.

The column of demonstrators stopped in front of TNB, on the boulevard, where they regroup, while party leaders give television interviews and communicate with those who came to the protest.

At this time, traffic on Mageru Boulevard is completely blocked.

14:05Demonstrators – several thousand – are preparing to go towards Victory Square. They chant “Thieves”, “Another revolution”.

Simion called on people to come to the demonstration as much as possible: “This is not a protest of AUR, it is a protest of the Romanian people.”

Many demonstrators were brought by buses from other countries.

According to the program announced by the AUR, after 15:00 the demonstrators will march to Piața Victoriei, as happened in other protests led by George Simion.

The column of demonstrators will arrive near the Government at around 4:00 p.m., the AUR claims that “the protest will end at midnight.”

The AUR protest, organized on Sunday in University Square, follows a series of scandals strategically provoked by George Simion in Parliament and in Victory Square. Although he invited Romanians to the streets for a peaceful protest, everything the AUR leader did during the week raised tensions.
