After the pandemic, sports are slowly facing an energy crisis. Swimming pools, ice rinks, stadiums, stadia, etc. need energy to operate, and with soaring prices, many of them will be at risk of “lockdown”. It is no coincidence that in many countries of Central Europe the games are held at noon. The management of UAC has decided to implement a number of initiatives aimed at reducing electricity consumption. During the implementation of the energy modernization projects of the facilities, an overall energy saving plan was drawn up, aimed at reducing consumption, since the costs after the price hike will be high.

The planning includes large-scale actions that concern the Organization in the first place, as well as initiatives aimed at raising the awareness of the sports community on this issue. Focusing on the human factor and, in this particular case, on the small society that works and actively works every day in the UACA, a number of decisions were made to reduce energy consumption.

In the context of direct initiatives, calling on workers to reduce their energy consumption through the wise use of air conditioners, energy-intensive devices, etc. At the same time, actions are already being taken to select low-energy devices, replace light bulbs with new LED technologies, and replace old air conditioners with new ones. inverter technology.

The “Flagship of Greek Sports” this year has completed 40 years of its contribution to sport and society and under the slogan “OAKA makes a difference” has embarked on a series of actions to modernize the Complex. A few days ago, the repair of the central suite of the stadium was completed, which was carried out with the support of the private sector and without burdening the state budget.
