
On the occasion of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s visit to Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates and Germany today signed an agreement to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) and diesel fuel to Berlin this year and 2023.
According to official Emirates news agency Wam, the deal provides for the first shipment of LNG (137,000 cubic meters) at the end of 2022, followed by the export of additional, unspecified volumes in 2023.
He also announced the first shipment of diesel fuel in September and an agreement to supply up to 250,000 tons of diesel fuel per month in 2023.
UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has signed an agreement with Soltz to accelerate energy security and industrial development. After a visit to Abu Dhabi, Scholz will travel to Qatar.
