The Boston Celtics have suspended head coach Ime Udoka for one season. The 45-year-old coach violated the internal regulations.
According to reports in the US, the coach of the Boston team had an affair with a club employee. He himself apologized, but did not resign, despite the fact that his position was not given after the end of the punishment.
His assistant Joe Majula becomes head coach.
“I would like to apologize to the players, fans and the entire Celtics organization, as well as to my family for letting them down. I apologize for putting the team in such a difficult position, and I accept the decision. Out of respect for those involved, I will not comment further,” the 45-year-old coach said in a statement.
