The Kremlin said Russian President Vladimir Putin would not attend the funeral of the late Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev on Saturday due to a busy schedule.
Speaking to reporters, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Putin paid his respects on Thursday morning by visiting the Moscow hospital where Gorbachev died last Tuesday.
