In the city center, a minibus crashed into a coffee shop. Brussels Today on Friday, six people were slightly injured, the fire service and the prosecutor’s office of the Belgian capital said.

The driver of the van got out of the car after the incident shortly before 13:00 (local time) and is still wanted, a spokesman for the Brussels prosecutor’s office said.

It is unclear whether the incident was accidental or deliberate, although witnesses told Belgian media that the van screeched its tires into Avenue Saint-Michel, which leads to a busy shopping area.

The car seemed to aim for the dining room and sped away.
