The event took place on Friday, when several ministers, as well as PSD leader Marcel Čolaku, went to Bystrica for the grand opening of a multifunctional sports complex.

“Today we came to the grand opening of the morgue, which we will all benefit from someday. We are talking about an investment of more than 27 million euros, a multifunctional hall from which we will all benefit in life.

What emerges from all the clichés of what is happening in Romania right now is a local builder and his team who managed to complete a task of the scale and complexity of this multifunctional hall in two and a half years,” said Marcel Colacu.

Bistriteanul.ro first reported the strange statement of the PSD leader.

When asked by reporters on Monday about the statement, the PSD leader said it was a joke directed at another mayor who had boasted that he had inaugurated a “mortuary from which we will all one day benefit” in his district.

“From now on, I will announce when I am joking,” the SPD leader also said.
