Romania will be represented by 11 athletes at the European Senior Swimming Championships in Rome (August 11-21). Two-time world champion David Popovich is one of the favorites for the competition in the capital of Italy.

1,500 athletes from 50 countries will compete at the European Championship. They will be competing for 231 medals, which the organizers will be raffling off over 11 days of events in swimming, diving, synchronized swimming, open water swimming and high diving.
