Health Minister Alexandru Rafila believes that the number of cases of COVID-19 will not decrease in the next period, but he explained that he is convinced that we will not have a lockdown and no more restrictions will be imposed. , reports News.ro.
Alexandru Rafila estimated on Wednesday night on Antena 3 that next week we will have 10,000 cases of COVID-19 per day.
“It will not decrease, last week we had almost 45,000 cases, that is, about 7,000 cases per day. I estimate that in next week’s report, which we will do on Monday or Tuesday, we will have somewhere around 70,000 reported cases, which is an average of 10,000 cases per day,” Rafila said.
Responding to a question about the lockdown in Romania, Rafila stated that we will not be in such a situation again.
“In France, they have almost 200,000 cases a day, and the only restriction is the use of a mask in certain closed spaces and public transport. I do not believe in any way, and it is my belief, that we will find ourselves in a situation of quarantine in Romania or restrictions that limit economic and social activities. These new waves of COVID-19, which will likely continue with some intensity that we cannot currently know, will be waves of respiratory infections that are generally minor and will no longer threaten the health care system, hospitals. But to prevent this from happening, we must work hard to build a high-quality outpatient medical care system in the future,” said Rafila.
Also, when asked if he is convinced that we will not have a quarantine, Rafila said: “Absolutely.”
