
Several explosions rang out on Thursday morning in the center of Kyiv after an air alert regarding missiles and drones launched by Russia, an AFP journalist found.
Starting at 05:00 (03:00 GMT), a dozen loud explosions were heard, as well as the firing of an anti-aircraft gun.
Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported in a Telegram message that “rocket debris” fell in some parts of the capital, including on a “residential building,” and “cars are on fire.”
An apartment in a residential building is on fire in Shevchenkivskyi district, and in Podilskyi district, rocket debris fell on the territory of an enterprise.
At 5:29 a.m., Klitschko reported that cars were on fire in the Shevchenkivskyi district parking lot. The fire and rescue service is on its way to the scene.
In the Podilsky District, a fire broke out in a transformer station and a two-story non-residential building as a result of falling rocket fragments.
The last major Russian attacks on the Ukrainian capital took place at the end of January (Agerpres and Pravda.com.ua)
