In Emmanuel Macron’s comments regarding the possible “official” introduction of troops into Ukraine, it became known that there are already representatives of various Western services on Ukrainian soil, reports Le Monde.

It will be recalled that French President Emmanuel Macron, after holding a conference in Paris, said that “tonight there was no agreement on the official dispatch of troops to the ground, but we cannot rule anything out.”

On Thursday, he stated that “every word he says about the war in Ukraine is ‘weighted’ and ‘measured.’

The fact that the head of state bothered to clarify that the conversation was only about the introduction of troops “officially, predictably and approved”, implicitly opened the veil over the fact that there are already professionals from various Western services on Ukrainian soil, notes Le Figaro.

“The actions of these services are by their very nature secret and therefore outside the rules of war,” Vincent Crouset, a former DGSE (Direction Générale de la Sécurité Extérieure) officer in France’s foreign intelligence, told Le Monde.

“All allied states are present in Ukraine. These are not combat units, but they are, for example, representatives of all special services,” a Ukrainian diplomatic source testified.

Responding to these statements, the Kremlin leader on Thursday warned the West about the “real threat” of nuclear war in the event of an escalation of the conflict in Ukraine. “They should understand that we also have weapons capable of hitting targets on their territory,” Vladimir Putin said.

A number of European countries, in particular Germany, Poland, Italy, and the Czech Republic, as well as the United States, categorically rejected the idea of sending ground troops.
