Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said on Thursday at his annual press conference that he accepted the invitation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi to hold a bilateral meeting in the future.
If this happens, it will be the first official bilateral meeting between the two leaders since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, Sky News notes.
According to Orban, Zelensky proposed a meeting earlier this month and suggested they “negotiate.”
“I told him I would be at his disposal. We only need to clarify one question: about what?”, said the Hungarian leader.
Viktor Orban said that the Ukrainian president wants to discuss his country’s membership in the EU, which Hungary categorically opposes.
