AFP and Reuters report that at least two explosions went off in Kyiv shortly after an air raid alert sounded, the Ukrainian Air Force said Russian missiles were aimed at the capital. According to the Air Force of Ukraine, several missiles are also aimed at the Khmelnytskyi region.

The attacks came after Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed confidence in Russia’s offensive against Ukraine on Thursday when he held a marathon press conference that lasted more than four hours, a week after announcing he planned to stay in the Kremlin until at least 2030 year.
The Kremlin leader said that the Russian economy is recovering after being hit hard by Western sanctions.
Putin also claims that Russian troops are strengthening their positions on almost all fronts in Ukraine and there is no need for further mobilization.
