If Russia wins in Ukraine, there is a “real risk” that Russian President Vladimir Putin will not stop there, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg warned in Brussels on Thursday, reports AFP.

“If (Russian President Volodymyr) Putin wins in Ukraine, there is a real risk that his aggression will not stop there,” Jens Stoltenberg warned the press.

He insisted on the need to continue military aid to Ukraine.

“Our support is not handouts, it’s an investment in our security,” he pleaded, and the President of the Russian Federation in Moscow said that the Russian army had improved its position on almost the entire front line in Ukraine.

Heads of state and government of the European Union (EU) met on Thursday in Brussels to decide, among other things, on providing Ukraine with 50 billion euros of aid.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban still opposes this aid.

“Stopping military aid to Ukraine will only prolong the conflict, not end it,” warned Jens Stoltenberg.

“The only way to achieve a just and durable peace is to convince President Putin that he will not win on the battlefield,” Jens Stoltenberg emphasized after meeting with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico.

“And the only way to make sure that President Putin understands that he is not going to win on the battlefield is to continue to support Ukraine,” he emphasized. (news.ro)
