On Friday, the Kyiv prosecutor’s office and special services announced that a court in Ukraine had frozen the assets of Russian businessmen Mikhail Fridman, Petro Aven and Andriy Kosogov in the amount of 17 billion hryvnias (over $464 million).

They were sanctioned for supporting Russia in the war against Ukraine, Reuters and Agerpres report. The SBU reported that the respective tycoons were close to Russian President Vladimir Putin and contributed to “large-scale financing of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.”

The three did not comment on the measures and statements against them.

Among the blocked assets are securities, the participation of some companies in mobile operators, a company for the production of mineral water, companies in the field of finance and insurance.

“The beneficiaries of these companies are three Russian oligarchs who own one of the largest Russian financial and investment consortia,” the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine reported on Telegram.

Reuters reminds that since the beginning of the war, when Ukraine several times confiscated and nationalized the property of Russian businessmen involved in financing aggression.
