Russian forces kept their own soldiers starving in a pit because they refused to fight, a Ukrainian official was quoted as saying by Sky News.
Near Pokrovsky, Zaporizhzhia region, about 50 servicemen were fed Russian police officers with “nedogor” once a day, Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Malyar reported.
She presented an equally gloomy picture of the life of Russian soldiers in Donetsk.
According to her, those mobilized from the former Soviet republics were forcibly relocated to the territory of Ukraine and kept under house arrest in houses belonging to Ukrainians, who in turn were deported to Russia.
“The stocks of dry rations received by the mobilized are almost exhausted – they are not provided with another source of food until they get to the combat units,” she said.
