A cruise missile was shot down in Crimea, the representative of the peninsula said, citing Sky News.
Anti-aircraft units shot down a missile in the east of the region illegally annexed by Russia, Serhiy Aksyonov reported in Telegram.
Residents were urged to “keep calm” and trust only “official sources of information.”
Such statements by Crimean officials are not the first time.
In recent months, Aksyonov reported that at least two ballistic missiles were shot down over the region.
In July, Russian officials said that a cruise missile was shot down near the city of Kerch.
Crimea was annexed by Russia from Ukraine in 2014, but is internationally recognized as part of Ukraine.
