The responsibility for the attack on the headquarters of the Russian political party in Kherson was claimed by the Ukrainian rebel group Atesh, Sky News reports.
Atesh said he “destroyed” the United Russia election center in Nova Kakhovka on Tuesday night.
It is reported that three Russian soldiers who were responsible for guarding the headquarters died as a result of the explosion. But this was denied by a local pro-Russian politician.
“As a result of the fire that occurred after the explosion, all the documentation that the occupiers brought to the elections scheduled for September 8-10 was burned,” the group wrote in Telegram.
“We will not tolerate hasty pseudo-elections on our territory. Atesh will continue the struggle until the last occupier leaves the territory of Ukraine,” the post added
Russia is accused of torturing Ukrainians in Kherson, but Moscow has repeatedly denied this.
