On Wednesday evening, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke to his compatriots about the ongoing counteroffensive and how it can be improved, noting that the task of everyone in Ukraine is to build the potential of capabilities at the front and weaken the occupiers.

He made the announcement in the context of Germany supplying additional Patriot systems, but he indicated that the entire area needs much more air defenses and promised diplomatic efforts in this regard, News.ro reported.

Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that he devoted the entire day of Wednesday to “important, long and very detailed meetings” with the military.

The meeting with the General Staff had a special format – a narrow circle, only key persons, Zelenskyi said. “We reviewed the current situation on the front line and the main directions of our offensive. Which works well. What needs to be strengthened. What are we planning for the near future,” said the Ukrainian leader.

“Separately, a special communication took place between our command, the head of the President’s Office (Andriy Yermak – no.), experts and international partners regarding the supply of ammunition and equipment for our military,” Zelenskyy clarified.

“Everyone in Ukraine has the same task – to increase the potential of our capabilities at the front and to weaken everything with which the occupiers are trying to put pressure on our soldiers or limit Ukraine,” the president said.

He announced the “good news” from Germany: “Exactly what we agreed with Olaf Scholz: we have additional Patriot systems. Thank you very much, Olaf, for this – we must protect our people from Russian terror. I personally thank Germany and the chancellor for implementing this agreement – it will surely save thousands of lives. This will certainly bring us closer to creating a complete air shield for Ukraine. This will help people, cities and villages,” Zelenskyi said.

Germany announced on Wednesday its decision to supply Ukraine with two more Patriot systems, which allow intercepting missiles.

“Every day, every week, we work to ensure that our defenders of the sky have more air defense systems and missiles. Tomorrow I will continue this work, I will do my best to protect the sky more,” Zelensky promised.

According to him, the entire Ukrainian territory needs much more air defense systems than there are now, but step by step this “much more” is turning into concrete opportunities.

“We are also preparing more specific information about modern fighters for our military: I have no doubt that F-16s will be in our skies,” Zelenskyy added. (New.ro)
