President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy wants to create a Ukrainian Silicon Valley on the Crimean Peninsula, said the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov, reports Ukrainian Pravda.
The president has an idea to implement a project similar to Silicon Valley in Crimea – with a high-tech university, enterprises that work all year round, etc.” Mykhailo Fedorov explained this in an interview, reports “Ukrainian Pravda”.
Fedorov noted that he would like all of Ukraine to become Silicon Valley.
“Similar clusters will emerge if we introduce the appropriate policy. When we win, we will also solve the security issue and be able to develop the infrastructure,” Fedorov said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi has been declaring since last year that the war in Ukraine should end with the liberation of Crimea.
Then he returned, making it clear that Ukraine would not refuse to return all territories occupied by the Russians, including the peninsula illegally annexed by Moscow in 2014.
But launched in June with the support of heavy weapons from the West, the counteroffensive is moving slowly against Russian forces that have built up strong defenses, including formidable minefields, and still have enough firepower to strike Ukrainian forces.
