For the first time in recent days, Russia launched a daytime missile attack on the port city of Odessa, whose port infrastructure it is trying to destroy after Moscow withdrew from the agreement on the export of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea, EFE and Agerpres report.
“Tonight, the Armed Forces of Russia carried out a new attack with long-range, high-precision weapons from the sea on objects where terrorist acts against Russia were being prepared, using attack drones,” the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported.
In exactly every daily press release, he stated that “all targets have been achieved” without giving details of their location.
Every night since Tuesday, Russia has attacked port facilities used for grain exports and other infrastructure of the Ukrainian agricultural industry with missiles and drones. Moscow justified two of those attacks as “retaliation” after a Ukrainian surface drone attack on Monday on the Kerch Bridge, which connects the annexed Crimean peninsula to mainland Russia.
The launch of these attacks also coincides with Russia’s withdrawal on Monday from a UN-brokered deal with Turkey to transport Ukrainian grain through a safe corridor in the Black Sea.
Ukrainians admit that Russian troops hit an important target
According to Ukrainian officials, with these bombings, Russia seeks to damage the Ukrainian infrastructure intended for the export of grain as much as possible. In all four attacks, Russia used more than 70 missiles, especially Kalibr cruise missiles launched from ships in the Black Sea, and about a hundred drones.
The fifth attack was carried out on Friday before noon with seven rockets, damaging the area also in the coastal Odesa region.

“We are still assessing the extent of the damage, we have no information about the victims,” she said.
