
According to the data of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in 500 days after the start of the invasion, 4,423 applications for asylum were registered in Romania from citizens of Ukraine fleeing the war.
“Over the past day, a citizen of Ukraine has asked for asylum in our country. Since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, 4,423 Ukrainian citizens have applied for asylum in Romania. They enjoy all the rights provided by national legislation,” the MAI said, as quoted by news.ro.
At the same time, according to the same source, from March 18, 2022 until now, 137,561 residence permits were issued to beneficiaries of temporary protection, 93 residence permits were issued in the last day.
The border police reported that 16,144 citizens of Ukraine entered Romania on Friday. Thus, starting from February 10, 2022 (pre-conflict period) to July 7, 2023, at midnight, 4,914,763 citizens of Ukraine entered Romania at the national level.
