
Unidentified people attacked the Belarusian Embassy in the Netherlands
On the night of Sunday, July 2, unknown persons attacked the Belarusian embassy in the Netherlands. Several windows of the diplomatic mission building in The Hague were broken. In addition, the inscription “Long live Belarus!” and the accusation of terrorism against Belarusian ruler Alexander Lukashenko, Dutch media company Omroep West reported.
Police arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of the attack. An investigation into the incident has been launched. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus confirmed the act of vandalism.
Dutch Member of Parliament from the left liberal party “Democrats 66” Sjord Sjordsma condemned the incident, urging not to attack embassies or residences of foreign states. Such actions “make more vulnerable” Dutch diplomats abroad, the lawmaker said.
