Prime Minister Mykola Denkov’s office on Friday approved a new package of “military and military-technological” aid for Ukraine, according to a statement from the government’s press service on Monday, without providing additional details.

It was only reported that the size of the package would be similar to the one that Bulgaria offered to the Kyiv authorities at the end of 2022. Also, no details about this package were announced at the time.

Bulgaria still has Soviet-made weapons, reminds dpa.

The dispute over support for Ukraine has already flared up between the government, which has been in place since June 6, and President Rumen Radev, who is considered a friend of Russia. President Radev warned that he opposes Bulgaria joining the EU initiative to supply ammunition to Ukraine.

The Minister of Defense of Sofia, Todor Tagarev, announced the strengthening of Bulgaria’s support for the EU’s efforts to supply Ukraine with the necessary ammunition. (Agerpress)
