“In approximately 15 regions of the country, an increase in demand was noted [de numerar]. On average, it was about 30%. But the most active demand for cash, the growth of demand for cash was observed in the southern regions – in the Voronezh, Rostov, Lipetsk regions, as well as in large cities,” Belousov said at a meeting with Prime Minister Mykhailo Mishustin.

But he hailed the “fairly clear” work of the Central Bank of Moscow, which he said avoided “any violations of the normal situation” and guaranteed the normal operation of ATMs.

Belousov noted that the demand for cash began to decrease on Sunday, and by Monday the situation had completely stabilized, returning to normal.

It will be recalled that on Saturday evening, Yevgeny Prigozhin announced that he had stopped the mutiny, which he had ordered the previous evening.

His statement came after the office of Belarusian leader Oleksandr Lukashenko said earlier that he had negotiated a deal with the leader of the Wagner Group, who agreed to de-escalate the situation in Russia.

According to the Belarusian side, Prigozhin agreed to stop the movement of mercenaries through the territory of Russia under the condition of guaranteed security. The Kremlin later announced that the mercenary leader Wagner would move to Belarus and that the investigation against him would be dropped.

However, his current whereabouts are unknown as Prigozhin was last seen leaving Rostov-on-Don late Saturday night in a black SUV after the Kremlin said Lukashenko had reached a deal with him.

Vice Prime Minister Belousov also noted on Monday that during the rebellion, sales in grocery stores also increased: in Rostov region – by 10-15%, in Lipetsk region – by 30%, and in Voronsky region – by 50%.

However, he assured that there are no problems with trade, and food stocks are sufficient.
