People’s deputy Yaroslav Yurchyshyn said that Belarus should be responsible for a large-scale war, as it offered its territory for aggression against Ukraine.
“This step is necessary to bring the Belarusian regime to justice,” the deputy believes.
“We remember the help of the Belarusians in the war against the Russian invasion and are grateful to the soldiers of the Kalinovsky regiment. However, Belarus as a state must bear legal responsibility for the crimes committed on our territory,” he added.
The text of the resolution, registered in the Verkhovna Rada on June 16, is not yet available, but the explanatory note stated that the Ukrainian parliament recognizes Belarus as an aggressor state and calls on the governments of other states and international organizations to do so.
In addition, the parliament will ask the government to “immediately resolve the issue of the breakdown of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus”, as well as call on the international community to increase pressure on Minsk through sanctions and “bring war criminals to justice.” .”
