The Russian occupying forces stopped the automatic transmission of data from the radiation control sensors at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZAEP). “Two weeks ago, according to an order from Moscow, the automatic transmission of data from the radiation control sensors located on the industrial site of the Zaporizhzhya NPP was stopped.

This is unacceptable and is a violation of nuclear and radiation safety. Therefore, currently the IAEA team, which is present at the ZNPP, manually – on paper or by phone – records the indicators from these sensors and sends them to the IAEA headquarters in Vienna,” said the acting director. Oleg Korikov, head of the State Atomic Energy Regulatory Commission. of Ukraine, reports Ukrinform.

Later, from Vienna, these data are entered into the relevant system, from where they become available to IAEA member countries, primarily Ukraine.

Korikov noted that safety principles at the station are gradually being destroyed.

He added that the situation can be resolved only if the ZNPP is released and demilitarized.
