Announcement of the military exercises “Phoenix of Anatolia – 2023” issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Cypriot Democracy.

As it became known, Spain and Poland, which were going to participate in the exercises, leave after being notified of the participation of a pseudo-state, which, as the announcement says, they did not know in advance.

As the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus points out, “with regard to the military exercises “Phoenix of Anatolia – 2023”, which are taking place in Iconium in Turkey, it is indicated that these are exercises organized by Turkey, with all this entailing, which systematically and unilaterally tries to justify such kind of activity of illegal separatist formations in the occupied territories.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in agreement with the Diplomatic Office of the President of the Republic and the Ministry of Defense, has taken the necessary steps at all levels. It was found that the participating States had no prior knowledge of the involvement of the illegal separatist entity. As a result of the above actions, Spain and Poland have informed the Republic of Cyprus that they are withdrawing from the exercise immediately.”
