Russian President Vladimir Putin said yesterday that Ukraine launches long-awaited major counter-offensive against the Russian army. The Russian military has been reporting large-scale attacks, mainly on the southern front, over the past six days.
However, Putin claimed that The Ukrainian army failed to “achieve its goals” during these attacks and suffered heavy losses.
The Ukrainian authorities, for their part, seem to be downplaying the fighting on the front in recent days and not detailing their strategy.
Today, East Ukraine Command spokesman Serhiy Tserevaty said that the Ukrainian military managed to advance 1,400 meters around the damaged city of Bakhmut in the east.
