Ukrainian intelligence reports wiretapping that proves that the sabotage at the Dnieper hydroelectric power station in Nova Kakhovka was the work of the Russians.
In an audio document allegedly intercepted by Russian communications, the Ukrainians say it seems clear that the damage was done not only by the Russians, but by the intent to blame the Ukrainians.
According to what the Ukrainian service of the SBU posted on Telegram, the Russian invaders wanted to blackmail Ukrainians by blowing up a dam and staged a man-made disaster in southern Ukraine.
“These [εννοώντας την ουκρανική πλευρά] they didn’t screw up there. Our sabotage group is there. They wanted to scare people with this barrier. Everything did not go according to plan, but more than they planned, ”heard in a conversation with the Russian military.
It also describes the consequences of this catastrophe, which Russia is trying to hide: rising water levels, flooding of land and destruction.
As reported, the SBU opened a criminal case on the fact of a war crime allegedly committed by the Russian Federation.
“By blowing up the dam of the Novokakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, the Russian Federation demonstrated that it poses a threat to the entire civilized world. After all, only a truly terrorist state can organize a man-made and environmental catastrophe of this level. And he will certainly pay for it, both on the battlefield and in international courts. Our task is to bring to justice not only the top of the Putin regime, but also ordinary perpetrators of crimes, ”said Vasily Malyuk, head of the SBU.
