
A landslide in southwest China’s Sichuan province has killed 14 people and left five more missing, Chinese state broadcaster CCTV reported on Sunday and local authorities announced.
The landslide happened at about 6 am today. (local time, 1:00 Greek time) in a mountainous area near the city of Lesan in the southern part of the province.
More than 180 rescuers have been sent to the scene, search and rescue operations are underway, CCTV reports.
Before the landslide in the city of Leshan, it rained heavily for two days.
