Vladimir Putin continued to comment on the drone attacks on Moscow today, calling them an attempt to “intimidate” Russia, Sky News reports.
The Russian president condemned the attacks as “terrorist activity”.
But despite criticism of Russia’s air defenses, he said the system “worked fine.”
However, he admitted that there are “things we need to work on”.
The Russian president also said on Tuesday that Ukraine is trying to intimidate Russians with drone attacks on Moscow, and to get a similar response from Russia, TASS reports.
“The Russian Federation strikes the territory of Ukraine, but it does so with the use of long-range, high-precision weapons, especially against objects of military infrastructure, warehouses of ammunition or fuel and lubricants used in hostilities,” the head of the Kremlin said during a visit to the Center of education and culture named after Zolotov in Moscow.
“Thus, two or three days ago, the Armed Forces of Russia launched an attack on the headquarters of the military intelligence of Ukraine. At the same time, the Kyiv regime chose a different path – intimidation of Russian citizens and attacks on residential buildings. This is a clear manifestation of terrorist activity,” he added.
The Russian president also stated that the purpose of the drone attack on Moscow, which, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, was carried out by eight drones, was to “provoke Russia’s response.”
