Hearing the opening sound, John Riddle entered his bathroom and found an iguana in the closet, staring at him with the same frightened expression as his own.
“I looked down and saw this reptile looking at me in fear,” the 58-year-old told local Florida media.
His attempt to capture her by force was not successful, so Riddle enlisted … with his bare hands and “wrestled” with a frightened reptile – the iguana won this second round as well.

Finally the iguana came out of the water on her own, so the 58-year-old man managed to kick her out of the house. He suggests that the reptile “swimmed into the toilet through the drain” or sneaked in through the door while he was walking his dogs.
“I’m used to iguanas, but I’m not used to seeing them in my closet,” Riddle said, adding that in the 21 years he’s lived in this particular home, nothing like this has ever happened to him before.
