“Russia is only considering the completion of its special military operation: ensuring its interests, achieving Russia’s goals either through a special military operation or by other available means,” Peskov told TASS, answering a question about whether Russia would consider freezing the conflict. .

“In this, Russia is in solidarity with the West, we cannot allow the conflict in Ukraine to be frozen,” said the press secretary of Russian President Vladimir Putin. However, he refrained from explaining how else this conflict could end.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said earlier that peace talks on the situation around Ukraine should not be aimed at freezing the conflict. A similar position was expressed by representatives of other Western countries.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Monday called the peace plans fundamentally wrong, which do not provide for the return of territories lost by Kiev and will only lead to a freeze of the conflict in Ukraine. Kyiv also said that peace initiatives should not imply freezing the conflict.
