Local police confirmed that the plane crashed near the Pont de Martel in Neuchâtel, without giving details.
According to media reports, several people died as a result of the plane crash, which reportedly occurred around 10:20 am. (local time) in the rugged and wooded area of Neuchâtel.
Police said they would delay releasing information about the crash until relatives of the victims were notified. The type of aircraft has not yet been announced.
Rescue services and police are at the scene of the crash, near the border with France, and an investigation into the circumstances of the crash has been launched, RTN reports.
