ABOUT Boris Johnsononce in a private conversation described him Emmanuel Macron as “Putin’s licker,” said an associate of the former British prime minister, according to a Politico report.

In a podcast, former Downing Street communications director Guto Hari said Johnson lashed out at Macron after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

“At our meeting this morning, I think with a small group of people, he launched an attack on Emmanuel Macron,” a Johnson aide said. “Basically, he said about Macron that he is a five-letter word that starts with the letter “m” and Putin’s slime,” he said.

According to him, Johnson continued to speak out against Macron, saying, among other things, that “I have to change the light for him.”

Johnson’s rep said he didn’t remember what Harry said about the meeting.

As noted by Politico, Johnson had a difficult relationship with Macron during his tenure. “The truth is that Macron doesn’t like Boris Johnson at all,” Charles Grant, director of the Center for European Reforms, said in 2022.

“At first there was tension when politicians like Macron went to Moscow to talk to Putin,” Harry said, referring to the French president’s visit to Moscow just weeks before the Russian invasion of Ukraine. “I think Boris described it privately as ‘vomiting’,” he added.

At the end, he said that the two men managed to mend their relationship. “They even drank whiskey together at the G7 summit,” Harry said.
