A rep for the couple said the chase could have been fatal because the paparazzi were driving on the sidewalk, running red lights and taking pictures while driving.

“While being a public figure is linked to a certain public interest, it should never come at the expense of anyone’s safety. “The distribution of these images, given the way they were obtained, encourages a highly indiscriminate practice that is dangerous to all involved,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
Harry and Meghan stepped down from their royal duties in 2020 and moved to the US, in part because of what they called the “harassment” they were receiving from the media. The Prince has been embroiled in a legal battle in the UK with newspapers, which he accuses of using dishonest means against him and his family. He is also trying to reverse the decision of the British government, which deprived him of the special police protection he enjoyed during his stay in the UK.
