The Court of Appeal of Naples accepted yesterday, Tuesday evening, the Belgian authorities’ request for extradition to Brussels Italian MEP Andrea Coccolino.
A European arrest warrant was issued on 10 February as part of the investigation into the case. Cathargateon charges of corruption.
OUR final decision on whether Coccolino will eventually be extradited to Belgium, must be considered, however, by the Supreme Court of Italy, to which his lawyers have filed an appeal..
The verdict of the Supreme Court of Rome is expected within the next month. The Naples Court of Appeal finally ruled that the extradition condition was that, if convicted, the MEP must serve his sentence in Italy.
