A few minutes later some of the most valuable historical jewels in the world they made the wings. Since then, only a few of the most valuable loot have been returned to the museum, and those in charge have expressed concern that some of them may never be found.
According to the director of the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden, an agency of 15 museums, the material value of the objects pales in comparison with the “priceless historical value.” and their cultural significance.
Almost all the booty was from the time of King Friedrich August III of Saxony (1696-1763) and included Hat buckle from 1780 set with 15 large and over 100 smaller diamonds.and also one Sword 96 cm with scabbardwhich consisted of at least 800 diamonds.
It was a carefully planned robbery. Members of the gang, residents of Berlin, visited the museum in Dresden several times to prepare the plan. They prepared an entry point ahead of time, using a hydraulic saw to cut through the window guards, and then taped them over so they wouldn’t be seen.
It is noted that one of the most famous exhibits of the museum collection is a green diamond weighing 41 carats, known as Dresden Greenthen absent from the museum, was loaned to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
