So it’s up to us to decide how to help the Ukrainians in their counterattack, how to prepare the issue of security guarantees for the negotiations that will inevitably take place.”

The French President also stressed: “I have always said that in the long term, the European security architecture should fully ensure the protection of tomorrow’s Ukraine. But this architecture must also ensure non-confrontation with Russia and restore a stable balance of power. But for this, many more steps need to be taken, ”he added.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to arrive in Paris today after a visit to Germany. The President of France will arrange a dinner for his Ukrainian counterpart.

The two leaders will discuss “support” for France “in response to Ukraine’s pressing needs at the military and humanitarian level,” the Elysee Palace said in a statement.
