Himarran war: from the blockade of 1945 to the capture of Beleris

With my supposed prisoner, since yesterday, in my cell prisons Tyrants for trying to buy votes, Heimarra’s Greek minority has been coming to the polls since early morning determined to elect Freddy Beleris as mayor.

By the time these lines were written, the information indicated that the voting in the villages had taken place since the morning without any surprises, and among the minority there was a high rally around the candidacy of Beleris.

It is estimated that the presence of expatriates could determine the outcome, since, as minority leaders point out, the Rama government has since 2016 annexed five other purely Albanian villages to the municipality of Heimarra to change it to the detriment of the Greek element. ., the electorate.

What if Beleris is elected mayor from jail tonight?

Obviously, this will be a great victory for Hellenism there, and heavy politics, and so on.Rozopian defeat of Rama, who took over the entire enterprise for the political and moral extermination of Beleris.

In the minority, as well as in the Albanian opposition (Beris, Mete), which supports Beleris, they consider it confident that in this case Rama has a plan B ready to stop him from taking office. Rama is said to have taken lessons from his “mentor” Erdogan, recalling the prosecution of Istanbul mayoral candidate İmamoğlu the day after his victory over AKP-elect Yıldırım. However, in the re-elections, to which he was then forced, Imamogu won in Turkey by a wide margin!

What will happen if Beleris wins can be seen late tonight or tomorrow morning, so it is expected that there will be first reactions. There is no doubt that his candidacy does not contradict the law on elections with his pre-trial detention, which was also explained by the chairman of the Central Election Commission.

But what is certain is that Rama will look for ways to remove him from his duties. In principle, if he is elected, Beleris will be (at least in form) mayor until his case is completed. The Avlon Court did not rule on the merits of the charges.except whether he should be remanded in custody.

Now a lengthy trial (first instance, second instance, supreme court) is expected, and no one can predict when and how it will end, although in Albania, as even European and American allies have angrily pointed out on numerous occasions, justice is not on the road to independence.

Whatever the course of events, the Beleri case will add another battle to the long-standing “war” of the Hellenism of the Heimarra massif with the central authority in Tirana, which now, in the case of Rama, comes across as a (different) “vendetta”.

The imposing mountains of Himarra, in addition to the constant, except in summer, fog on their slopes and gorges, are shrouded at all times in a constant cloud of suspicion between the two sides. The Greek minority there felt and still feels that they are constantly persecuted by Tirana, so they are forced to leave their ancestral homes.
