Voting in the municipality of Himarras has been going smoothly so far, and the main feature is the presence from all over Greece of many fellow citizens of imprisoned mayoral candidate Freddy Beleris. Minority voters arrive in Chimarra villages by bus and car.
According to the electoral law, Beleris will not be able to vote, but his name will be put on the ballot and he will be able to vote.
It is noted that in the Albanian electoral data for the first time two days before the vote, a mayoral candidate belonging to the Greek minority was arrested, who, in addition to the Human Rights Union Party and OMONII, is supported by the opposition party Sali Berisha and former President Ilir Meta.
