Surveillance video from the fatal parking lot shows Thompson pulling out a gun and shooting Gonzalez first in the head and then shooting her multiple times before running away.
Thompson was arrested later that day and is being held at the Dallas County Jail.
A previous report to authorities in March listed the attack without Gonzalez’s name. However, he notes that the woman told police that Thompson “beat her many times throughout their relationship” and that she was pregnant by him. The woman “reiterated that she was afraid of the suspect because he threatened to harm her family.”
