
Progress was made in negotiations on his agreement Black Sea for grain stored in Istanbul by its defense ministers TürkiyeRussia and Ukraine, as well as UN officials, the Turkish Defense Ministry said today.
The parties agreed to continue the four-party technical meetings on the agreement, which are expected to end on May 18, the ministry said in a statement.
Russia said it would not extend the deal beyond May 18 unless a series of requirements to remove barriers to its own grain and fertilizer exports are met.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu said yesterday that he believes the agreement allowing the safe export of grain and fertilizer from three Ukrainian ports could be extended for at least another two months.
