
Twenty-seven people, mostly schoolchildren, were injured today as a result of the collapse of a temporary footbridge in the city of Espoo. Finlandnear Helsinki.
According to the rescue service, nothing threatens the life of the victim.
The children were part of a group of 14-15-year-old schoolchildren who went on an excursion accompanied by their teachers, a hospital doctor said at a press conference. According to Eero Hirvensalo, most children have limb injuries.

Police announced that they had launched an investigation into the accident, which injured 26 minors and one adult. 24 victims had to be hospitalized.
The temporary bridge was made of plywood. Finnish media broadcast footage showing at least five people lying on the ground receiving first aid from rescuers.
Finnish President Sauli Niinistö expressed support for the victims by posting a message on social media.
