
In an interview he gave to the media, including the BBC, the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelenskysaid that the country needs more time to prepare for the long-awaited spring counter-offensive.
“We can go ahead and do this. But we would have had big losses. I think it would be unacceptable. So we must wait. We still need time,” he said.
Zelenskiy said that while the army has combat brigades in reserve, there is still a shortage of armored vehicles, which are coming slowly.
Zelensky made it clear that Ukraine she is unwilling to cede any territory in exchange for peace, saying characteristically: “They cannot force Ukraine to give up territory. Why would any country in the world cede territory to Putin?”
Regarding the incident with the drone over the Kremlin, Zelensky again denied any responsibility of Ukraine:
“Even in the domestic public it did not work. Even their own propagandists do not believe in this,” he said.
He also said that the impact of the shortage of Russian weapons on the battlefield is starting to show, noting: “They still have a lot in stock, but we are already seeing that they have reduced the daily shelling in some areas.”
