OUR american president Joe Biden today again called on Congress to ban assault rifles, a day after the deadly Texas mall shooting.

“I am again asking Congress to pass legislation to ban assault rifles and high-capacity magazines. Establishment of a criminal record and verification of a psychiatric past. Require safe storage (weapons). End the immunity of arms manufacturers,” the statement said.

“I will sign it right now,” Biden said.

“We need to act more and faster to save lives,” he stressed.

“Too many families have empty chairs around the table. Republicans in Congress cannot continue to respond to this epidemic with a shrug. The thoughts and prayers they send in a tweet are not enough,” Biden complained.

Eight killed in shooting at Dallas mall

On Saturday afternoon, an armed man opened fire at a mall in the Dallas, Texas area, killing eight people and injuring several more before being shot dead by a police officer.
