
The meeting between Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Libyan Marshal Khalifa Haftar lasted two hours in Rome.
According to Italian media, the main topics of discussion were the increase in migration flows to Italy and the need to achieve stability in Libya and North Africa as a whole.
At the same time, the Italian Prime Minister reaffirmed her country’s support for the efforts of the United Nations to restart the process, the main goal of which is to hold presidential and parliamentary elections in Libya before the end of the year.
Finally, at the meeting between Haftar and Meloni, the actions of the Russian mercenaries of the Wagner group in Africa and especially in Sudan were also discussed.
