Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is also set to visit the International War Crimes Court in The Hague on Thursday as part of his surprise visit to the Dutch city.
The corresponding statement was made by the court itself, saying that the Ukrainian leader would take part in a meeting within the framework of the organization in The Hague. In particular, he will meet with President of the Court Piotr Hofmansky and Secretary Oswaldo Savala Aguilar.
Mr. Zelenskiy is expected to push for new charges against Russian political and military leadership beyond those related to the forced removal of children from Ukraine, including Russian President Vladimir Putin. An international arrest warrant has already been issued for the Russian ruler.
The President of Ukraine arrived at the building of the Dutch Senate at 10:00 Greek time to meet with Dutch parliamentarians, including the chairmen of the Senate and the House of Representatives.
Later, he is expected to meet with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte, as well as his audience with the King of the Netherlands, Wilhelm-Alexander.
According to the Dutch Foreign Ministry, Mr. Zelensky will deliver a speech in The Hague on the theme “There is no peace without justice” for Ukraine.
The Ukrainian president has previously denied any involvement by Kyiv in what Moscow called a “drone attack on the Kremlin” in an “assassination attempt” against Russian President Vladimir Putin.
